Kein & Aber

Judge a book by its cover

Kein & Aber stands for exceptional books and an unmistakable signature. Since 1997, this Swiss publishing house has produced influential voices in German-language and international literature: Hazel Brugger, Truman Capote, Elke Heidenreich, Gerhard Polt, Bryan Washington are among the publishers’ many cherished authors. Kein & Aber places great importance on the design of its publications, because each book must match the individual tone its author has given it. The new brand identity embodies this commitment: it strengthens the publisher's brand and honours the distinctiveness of each work.

Stable Design, Maximum Flexibility

With effective design finesse, the revised logo sums up the publisher’s identity. Without imposing itself, it creates recognition across all applications. Paired with a harmonious typography and colour scheme, it complements the distinct design of each cover and the iconic colour cut of the paperbacks – a visual language that creates great diversity whilst maintaining the Kein & Aber identity throughout.

The digital design is clear and minimalist. It skilfully sets the scene for the narrative.

Distinctive Digital Brand Experience

The new website is clean, direct and concise, just like the publisher’s books. Typography is carefully measured, colors are subtle, and navigation is reduced to the essentials, putting the titles and authors on centre stage. Subtle animations and purposeful interactions create a user experience that brings the essence of Kein & Aber to life digitally.
